This is me, wiping away tears after watching 2 Grand’s performances in Britain’s Got Talent. Here is the May 16, 2009 audition of John, a 76-year-old grandfather, and Sally, his 12-year-old granddaughter, singing a duet. It’s not the quality of the singing that touched me, it’s just seeing this elderly man and his grandgirl making a very special memory together. It made me think of my own daughter’s relationship with her beloved Poppa Kent and how she would have loved to have done something special with him like this.
Here is their semifinal performance, which earned them a spot in tonight’s final.
Here are the results of that semifinal heat.
And here is a brief interview after they advanced to the finals.
Here is their performance in the finals.

That is so lovely. It’s nice to see a good relationship between a grandchild and a grandparent on tv. I’ve been blessed to have wonderful relationships with my grandparents and this was just delightful. Thanks Dad!
