Is Our Reality God’s Picture Show?

In Vibrational Medicine, Dr. Richard Gerber describes all matter as “frozen light,” light which has been slowed down and become solid. This light, the light of divine consciousness, can be compared to the light emanating from a movie projector.

As moving pictures are sustained
by a beam of light coming from the projection booth of a movie house,
so are all of us sustained by the Cosmic
Beam, the Divine Light pouring from
the projection booth of Eternity.
Paramahansa Yogananda

The forms projected on the screen appear separate from one another; but try to grab an object from the screen and you discover that, just as all of creation is but a single divine thought, the lifelike reality on the screen is produced by a single beam of light.

The external world of physics has thus become a world of shadows. In removing our illusions we remove the substance, for indeed we have seen that substance is one of the greatest of our illusions.
Sir Arthur Eddington

Switch off the projector of God’s mind and we would cease to exist as surely as if we were celluloid characters on a suddenly-blank movie screen.

So impossible is it for the world to continue without God that if God were able to forget the world it would instantly disappear.
Soren Kierkegaard

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

Order it at GodIsLogical.com.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. 1. ArrVee Says:

just as forms can be projected onto a screen, our “reality” is that part of ourselves and this world projected into this plane of existence we currently live in and are conscious of. Just like moving pictures, even our sense of “reality” is not absolute, as it changes with what we sense as Time.

we are more than what we can sense in and reason out of this plane of existence, and in each of us God has planted a seed of Faith that makes us instinctively reason out that there is more than what meets our physical eye and touch, puts meaning into the here and now, and allows us to make that leap into the real reality of His Divine Existence.

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

Thank you for adding your insight to the discussion, ArrVee. Yes, what we sense as Time is not as black and white as we think. I wrote about that earlier:

We Dream the Dream Along With God

There are so many layers to existence and we are fooling ourselves if we think that material existence is all that there is.

  3. LeeDean Says:

Very good work, especially Paramahansa Yogananda.

  4. Phil Bolsta Says:

    Thank you, LeeDean!
