Reincarnation is consistent with the concept of a benevolent universe in that you are given unlimited opportunities to learn what you need to learn, atone for your errors, and complete your life’s work.
My life often seemed to me like a story that has no beginning and no end. I had the feeling that I was an historical fragment, an excerpt for which the preceding and succeeding text was missing. I could well imagine that I might have lived in former centuries and there encountered questions I was not yet able to answer; that I had been born again because I had not fulfilled the task given to me.
Carl Jung
Just as your childhood memories are stored within you, so are memories of your previous lives. While they may not be accessible, they are an integral part of who you are, shaping you and guiding you through all the many roles you play in the endless drama of life.
I did not begin when I was born, nor when I was conceived. I have been growing, developing, through incalculable myriads of millenniums. All my previous selves have their voices, echoes, promptings in me. Oh, incalculable times again shall I be born.
Jack London
Each incarnation allows you to begin anew so that you keep your focus on the lessons waiting for you in this life, undistracted by past events, memories, and relationships.
As we live through thousands of dreams in our present life, so is our present life only one of many thousands of such lives which we enter from the other more real life and then return after death. Our life is but one of the dreams of that more real life, and so it is endlessly, until the very last one, the very real life—the life of God.
Leo Tolstoy
Reincarnation accounts for why you are drawn to certain people, why on some level you “recognize” each other when meeting for the first time. There is unfinished business between you that requires resolution.
You meet someone and you’re sure you were lovers in a past life. After two weeks with them, you realize why you haven’t kept in touch for the last two thousand years.
Al Cleathen

Wow, this explains it! A couple times in my life I ‘ve met people that gave me that deja vu feeling. They were total strangers to me prior to me meeting them, but somehow it felt like we knew each other from some other place or time….we just clicked.

Yep, that’s a great feeling, isn’t it, Tsenre?
