God’s Living Brush

As I sat on a stone bench in the Self-Realization Fellowship Meditation Gardens yesterday and gazed out at the ocean just after sunset, I was transfixed by the sheer beauty of what was in front of me. The deep blue of the ocean, the red hues on the horizon . . . I felt I was looking at a museum-quality painting. And in a sense, I was. This world is but a painting of God, and we are all living, breathing flashes of color created with a few strokes of God’s living brush.

I found the four-minute video above on YouTube. It’s a nice introductory guided tour of the Meditation Gardens.

On the walk back home, I took a left and walked two blocks to the end of a cul-de-sac. I stood at the metal rail that separated the street from the ocean and looked out at the darkening vista. I could hear the roar of the ocean and the breaking of the waves upon the shore. The very definition of majestic.

How would I describe my time in Encinitas? Three words: Living the dream.
