Friends, meet Ocean. Ocean, meet friends (Photo by Christopher Gray)
Walked a mile-long stretch of beach in Encinitas last night at sunset. Breathtaking. Metallic blue water, orange sky, surfers riding the waves. As darkness fell, the beach was deserted in both directions. I had it all to myself.
My mom just mailed me an article from the St. Cloud, Minnesota newspaper that told of temperatures hitting thirty-two below. That’s temperature, not wind chill. She wrote at the top, “It warmed up to three below!”
Don’t think I’ll be going back anytime soon.
