David Rainoshek: "Got wheatgrass?"
Listen to Kevin Gianni‘s dynamic and thought-provoking audio interview with David Rainoshek at the end of this post!
After eating a raw, organic vegan diet for more than three years, I am once again eating cooked food and even some animal products. I am not alone. In recent months, I’ve become aware of a number of top names in the raw-food movement who have come to the same conclusion, including:
Frederic Patenaude. I reviewed Frederic’s new book, Raw Food Controversies, prior to publication and offered numerous suggestions, which I was happy to see him use in the finished book. I also wrote a testimonial for the back cover:
Raw Food Controversies is a treasure-trove of insight and information for anyone interested in eating a healthier diet. Frederic’s dietary successes and setbacks mirrored my own, answered many of my longstanding questions, and opened my eyes to valuable new ideas and strategies that have already moved me closer toward radiant good health.

Marilyn Diamond. Co-author of Fit for Life, the best-selling diet book in history, Marilyn is coming out with a new book called Young for Life that promises to shake up the belief system of vegetarians everywhere. I also wrote a testimonial for Marilyn, whom I will be interviewing for this blog very soon:
With her health in jeopardy in her fifties, Marilyn Diamond faced a startling realization: Her runaway bestseller, Fit for Life, was only the first chapter of a healthy lifestyle. Putting her reputation on the line, she resolved to design and deliver a revolutionary new paradigm to her millions of health-conscious readers. I applaud Marilyn for boldly and courageously presenting the often controversial principles behind emotional and physical well-being and for sharing with us the intimate details of her redemptive journey back to health, wholeness, and happiness.

Kevin Gianni. Kevin is a health advocate, author, and interviewer. His expertise includes exercise, energy techniques, nutrition, paradigm shifting, and stress relief. Through his programs and online seminars, he has helped thousands of people from over 102 countries learn more, improve their health, and reach higher levels of fitness. On a recent episode of The Renegade Health Show, Kevin featured . . .
David Rainoshek. David is the visionary behind JuiceFeasting.com, where I posted a long Q&A about my own juice feasting experiences.
In this astonishingly ambitious and insightful two-hour interview, David addresses such issues as:
• There is no one monolithic nutritional imperative.
• A raw-food diet can be life-saving and profoundly healing. But it cannot and should not be sustained for a lifetime.
• Every approach to eating outlives its usefulness. The key is to recognize the expiration date.
• Author and philosopher Ken Wilber‘s influence on dietary theory.
CONCLUSION: My time on a raw-food diet was well spent. I expect to return to it periodically for cleansing and healing purposes. But it is not a permanent solution.
