The Momma and me
The older I get, the more I realize how lucky I am to have been raised by a mom and dad who unconditionally loved and cherished me. I thought every kid was loved by their parents that way.
Sure, I’ve got issues to work on just like everybody else but none of them have to do with childhood hurts and traumas. My kidhood was blissfully happy, which has given me a solid foundation for life and enabled me to do the work I feel called to do in this world.
Today, my mom turns eighty, but looks at least ten years younger. She is kind and loving to all and is a loyal and wonderful friend to many. She retains a childlike enthusiasm for life, loves to laugh (especially at herself), and as her granddaughter enjoys pointing out, “She’s adorable!”
Happy birthday, Mom! Thank you for everything, and most importantly, thank you for being you!
Love,
Me
