The term “handicapped” eventually gave way to “disabled,” which later evolved to “physically challenged.” In this interview with Texas Country Reporter, Diane Rose of Waco, Texas, takes that redefining a step further, saying that her blindness is nothing more than an “inconvenience.”
All I can say is: Wow. I wouldn’t have believed what Diane is doing unless I saw it with my own eyes, which is an ironic statement if ever there was one. It never ceases to amaze me what the human spirit is capable of overcoming.
