Love, Me

I was just pulling into the parking lot of my daughter’s high school early one evening. In the back seat were my mom and dad, who had driven 70 miles to see their grandgirl perform in a school choir concert.

RIght before I was going to turn off the ignition, Collin Raye’s song, Love, Me began playing on the radio. I said, “Mom, you’ve got to hear this,” so we sat in the car and just listened. As the song ended, my mom burst into tears and said, “That is so sweet.” When I talked to her a few days later, she had already bought the album.

I had been introduced to Collin Raye when I heard In This Life on the radio one afternoon while driving to work. I didn’t catch the name of the singer and I had to wait a number of weeks before I heard it again.

When I went to the record store to get the CD (something I had never done before—Im not really a big music guy), I was shocked to discover that Collin Raye was in the Country section. Well, that opened up a whole new universe to me and I remain a country music fan to this day—although Billy Joel remains my all-time favorite singer.

So, as a bonus, here is Collin Raye singing In This Life—a beautiful, beautiful song.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

That’s a great song, Phil. I had not heard it before. Of course, when I hear it, I immediately think about Liz. If you get there before I do, don’t give up on me … I’ll meet you when my chores are thru, I don’t know how long I’ll be … but I’m not gonna let you down, darling wait and see … and between now and then, till I see you again, I’ll be loving you. Love me.

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

I’m glad you were touched by it, Kim. It’s a wonderful, wonderful song.
