Your Destiny Awaits

sailboat-lighthouse-moonWhen you are ready to know your life’s purpose, it will reveal itself by taking up residence in your conscious mind. As Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung explained:

From the beginning, I had a sense of destiny, as though my life was assigned to me by fate and had to be fulfilled. This gave me an inner security and though I could never prove it to myself, it proved itself to me. I did not have this certainty, it had me.

I’ve talked to many writers, artists and other “creative” types who have experienced the call of destiny just as I have. It’s almost as if an unseen guide is nudging you constantly, persistently, unceasingly. Whether you write, paint, sing, dance or create or perform in any way, the next project is always calling your name. There is no escaping it.

I’ve had people tell me that this “calling” I talk about is a figment of my imagination, that I created it because it’s something I wanted to do. All I can say is:

If you understand, no explanation is necessary. If you don’t understand, no explanation is possible.

Note that anyone and everyone can experience this phenomenon. I focused on creative types because that’s my own experience. Everyone has a calling. It’s just a matter of time before each of us discovers what it is.

When destiny comes calling, welcome it with open arms. And let the magic begin.

Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart to give yourself to it.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

SiSe_fullcover_final.inddPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

So true… I think that a calling is a combo of what you want to do and what you are meant to do. It is my belief that we are in a co-creative world. The calling doesn’t have to be anything grand, it is sometimes what you do already. What I do know is the calling doesn’t leave you alone. You must follow it.

Great blog site. Keep it up.

Well said, Mirit. Every day there is work to be done. And I wouldn’t want it any other way!

  3. Kim Wencl Says:

Even though you learn your calling or your destiny … it isn’t always easy or what you ever would have imagined for yourself. I’ve learned that The Universe does have a sense of humor! I spent the first 49 years of my life saying that there were some things that I would never do. Public speaking was #1 on the list. However, once the Universe showed me the way, and I realized that I needed to speak because the experiences and information I had would help others, then I wanted to speak (but not without great trepidation). By doing so, another Universal lesson was learned – when you step out in faith and do what you are called to do, even though the seeds of doubt & fear spring up, The Universe steps in to help, and everything happens just as it should. When this plays out so clearly in your own life … it is amazing and wonderful, and it continues to propel you down the pathway that is your destiny. Finding and then accepting your destiny for me was the hardest part – but it has been one joyous, amazing journey!

  4. Phil Bolsta Says:

Thanks for sharing that, Kim. I’ve been amazed at where I’ve been led as well. Life certainly has its share of twists and turns!
