Stay Strong, God Is Just a Thought Away

boy-bowing-down-in gods-handsIn your darkest hour, you may feel desolate and abandoned, but solitude is an illusion. God is just a thought away.

Indeed, the thought of God will lead you directly back to your own soul, that individualized spark of the divine within you.

I wish I could show you when you are lonely or in darkness the astonishing light of your own being.

The moment you reach for God’s hand, you gain clarity and perspective. You begin feeling stronger, wiser, and less fearful.

Not asking for God’s help and guidance is like choosing to sail across the ocean on a rickety raft instead of a luxury yacht.

If you do not feel God’s hand in yours, stay strong. God is there, guiding you and loving you with infinite tenderness. You may become aware of God’s presence at the precise moment it will benefit you most.

If you knew Who walks beside you on the way that you have chosen, fear would be impossible.
A Course in Miracles

If you stopped trusting God when life punched you in the gut, you never truly trusted God to begin with. Unconditional, spiritually mature faith is rooted in love; conditional, fair-weather faith is rooted in fear.

Your faith, both in God and in yourself, will lead you from fear and self-doubt to courage and self-confidence.

Faith transcends reason. It is when the horizon is darkest and human reason is beaten down to the ground that faith shines brightest and comes to our rescue.
Mahatma Gandhi

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

    Dear Phil,

Thank you for this post. I had a rough week and was going to stay in tonight, but my neighbor invited me to her church for the evening service. The service was beautiful, then I came home and read this post.

I can’t seem to find the words to describe how I feel now, except to say I give thanks to God for my neighbor and for you.

    Much love,

  4. Phil Bolsta Says:

You’re very welcome, Jackie. I’m glad your rough week gave way to a peaceful evening.
