Radiate Mental Sunshine!

When you are intoxicated with the ever-new joy of God-contact, you radiate mental sunshine. Others take notice as surely as if you were visibly glowing and sporting wings. Your peaceful countenance speaks louder than words.

What you are stands over you the while, and thunders so that I cannot hear what you say to the contrary.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

In fact, you need not speak at all. In response to Jesus’ statement about coming into this world to “bear witness unto the truth,” Paramahansa Yogananda wrote, “A child of God bears witness by his life. He embodies truth; if he expound it also, that is generous redundancy.”

The deepest rivers flow with the least sound.
Quintus Curtius Rufus

The more centered and peaceful you are, the more exhilarating life becomes. Joy becomes your constant companion, and you are keenly aware of God’s loving presence in and around you.

You perform your obligations with the sole desire to please God. You humbly and joyously acknowledge that everything you do is for God and that everything you have is from God.

You resolve to be an ambassador of divine light and love so that when others see and hear you, they see and hear God.

You view your relationship with God as a hallowed trust that must be kept pure. You pledge to think love, speak love, be love.

Abandon yourself into the arms of love.
Anonymous saint

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

Order it at GodIsLogical.com.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

    What a fabulous post!
This is so true; too many people rush around trying to “find” God when in actual fact, the quickest way to find him, is to just sit still and listen. It’s amazing how the busyness of life in general blinds and deafens us to the fact that he’s right next to us. I’m not sure what it is about silence that people find too scary: they rush to fill it with inane chatter, or TV or music, or whatever. Silence truly is golden, and silence can also be soul-filling. The saying “Wake up and smell the coffee” I prefer to say as, “Sit down, smell the coffee and take a moment to drink and enjoy it whilst it’s hot.” That way you can have 5 mins peace which will probably set you up nicely for the rest of the day. Oh, and you avoid that swigged mouthful of cold coffee because you were too busy ‘doing’ whilst the coffee went cold!!
    Thank you for writing this.

Well said, Jabulani. Sounds like another post needs to be written: “Don’t Let the Coffee Get Cold!”
