Wrestle your Fear to the Ground!

Never turn away in fear from a challenge that must be faced. Fear can only be conquered if it is seized and wrestled to the ground. Shrink away from it and fear becomes your master.

Look into your fears, dare them to do their worst and cut them down when they try. If you don’t, they’ll clone themselves, mushroom till they surround you, choke the road to the life you want. Every turn you fear is empty air, dressed to look like jagged hell.
Richard Bach

Fear is the moat full of alligators between you and the castle where your greatest self resides. Facing adversity with fear instead of fortitude obscures the accompanying lessons. Hence, you will be depriving yourself of valuable learning experiences.

Troubles are often the tools by which God fashions us for better things.
Henry Ward Beecher

It is always in your power to reframe a hardship so that you instantly transition from fearing the worst to expecting the best.

Sometimes when the world is dark it is for a purpose. Otherwise you would not see the light of the tunnel you’re supposed to choose.
Krista Belles

If the path to daylight is cloaked in fog, waiting to act until the fog burns off is not an option. If you cannot do what you would like to do, do whatever you can do, no matter how insignificant it may seem.

It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
Motto of the Christophers

Do not allow yourself to sink deeper into the quicksand of your despair when hope waits patiently, lovingly, at the edge, reaching for your hand.

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you until it seems that you cannot hold for a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time for the tide to turn.
Harriet Beecher Stowe

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

Order it at GodIsLogical.com.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

  1. ArrVee Says:

“Sometimes when the world is dark it is for a purpose.”
    – and it is then when you see your inner light, and those of others

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

That’s the challenge, ArrVee, to see that inner light which is always there but is often obscured by fear.

  3. ArrVee Says:

i’d like to think that we have a “pilot flame” that keeps on burning inside of us, the purpose of which is to ignite our main flame, our fighting spirit. Our main flame might be snuffed out every now and then, but we have to protect that pilot flame at all costs, so we can reignite our spirit, pick ourselves up, and fight again.

  4. Phil Bolsta Says:

Yes, ArrVee, there will certainly be times when we need to pick ourselves up and reignite our spirit. That pilot light within us is the spark of the divine, an eternal flame that can never be snuffed out.
