Believing Is Seeing

Walk your spiritual path in faith and you will notice evidence of universal laws at work that reinforces this radical new way of seeing and being in the world. As your field of vision expands, your mindset shifts from “I’ll believe it when I see it” to “I’ll see it when I believe it.”

Faith is to believe what we do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what we believe.
Saint Augustine

That statement is not equivalent to “If I believe it, it must be true.” Your beliefs will only be made manifest if they are in harmony with universal law. As your awareness continues to grow, all doubt is removed and the ideas you once questioned or even ridiculed you now know to be true.

We do not receive wisdom, we must discover it for ourselves, after a journey through the wilderness which no one else can make for us, which no one can spare us, for our wisdom is the point of view from which we come at last to regard the world.
Marcel Proust

The more you absorb and the deeper your understanding, the greater your sense of wonder and reverence for the unmistakable artistry and perfection of the universe.

Awe is an intuition for the dignity of all things, a realization that things not only are what they are but also stand, however remotely, for something supreme. Awe is a sense for the transcendence, for the reference everywhere to mystery beyond all things. It enables us to perceive in the world intimations of the divine, to sense in small things the beginning of infinite significance, to sense the ultimate in the common and the simple; to feel in the rush of the passing the stillness of the eternal. What we cannot comprehend by analysis, we become aware of in awe.
Abraham J. Heschel

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

Order it at GodIsLogical.com.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. 1. ArrVee Says:

our sense of sight is limited to the colors of the rainbow, and hence we have come up with the terms infrared and ultraviolet to denote the frequency ranges that are beyond our sight’s perception. What’s more, our perception of reality as sensed by our eyes is easily influenced by *interesting chemicals* that make it past the blood-brain barrier, making us see visions of “lucy in the sky with diamonds”. Our sense of smell is not that keen either, and we need our canine friends to help us out in critical tasks (like detecting hidden “interesting chemicals”); the same can be said for our other senses as well. Our physical senses limit our perception of reality even in the physical world.

our spiritual senses however, are very much unexplored, and they open up windows to possibilities that challenge our logical notions of space and time, and the unimaginable reality that exists beyond our comprehension.

sometimes our normal physical senses get in the way of sensing reality, and we have to let go sometimes and sense it with our soul.

As Obi Wan Kenobi famously said: “… use the Force, Luke …”

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

Very well stated, ArrVee. It still puzzles me how so many people so stridently believe that if their senses can’t detect it or measure it, it doesn’t exist.
