Janey Cutler SIngs Up a Storm in Glasgow

Janey Cutler

On May 8, 2010, one year after Susan Boyle took Britain’s Got Talent—and indeed the whole world—by storm, eighty-year-old Janey Cutler, a mother of seven, grandmother of thirteen, and great-grandmother of four, auditioned for the show, as Boyle did, in Glasgow, Scotland. Before walking on stage, Janey had this to say: “I like singing. My friends say, ‘Janey go in for it; better late than never, dear.’ I’ve had a great life, seven kids, hard times, but the happiest days of my life . . . no regrets.”

Janey then wowed the audience and judges with a rousing rendition of Edith Piaf’s Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien (No Regrets), receiving a Boyle-like ovation. Will Janey follow in Susan Boyle’s footsteps and become a huge star? In an interview with Britain’s News Of The World, she said, “It’s very flattering to be compared to Susan—she has had incredible success. But I don’t take any notice of all the fuss really. I’d like to have that same success in my own right, but if it doesn’t happen, I’ll just enjoy what I can. I’m glad that I’m getting to experience a bit of the good life; I haven’t had fun in a while.”

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

Order it at GodIsLogical.com.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

  1. ArrVee Says:

these stories of personal triumph are very uplifting, taking otherwise ordinary-looking people, placing them in the spotlight, and giving them a chance to show what they do best.

aside from her talent, the other thing they were cheering about was her heart and spirit – very much alive, energetic and still able to offer something to others. I believe this subconsciously gave the people in the audience hope that one does not need to fade away with age, but can keep that internal flame burning brightly, indefinitely.

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

Absolutely, ArrVee. Whenever I see someone older than me who is vibrantly alive, it inspires me to match their enthusiasm and vigor!
