Karmic consequences are certain but unpredictable. The same cause may affect two people’s karmas very differently based on their previous karma, their sacred contracts, and an infinite number of other variables that all coalesce into effects that serve the highest good of each individual.
Thus every act or thought has consequences, which themselves will have consequences; life is the most intricate web of interconnections. This is the law of karma . . . (which) states simply that every event is both a cause and an effect. Every act has consequences of a similar kind, which in turn have further consequences and so on; and every act, every karma, is also the consequence of some previous karma.
Reincarnation explains why God’s plan for you does not preclude the use of free will. God provides the canvas and unceasing guidance, but leaves the painting of your life up to you.
You have your brush, you have your colors, you paint paradise, then in you go.
If God directly interfered in any way, not only would you be deprived of valuable experiences, but the application of karmic law would be disrupted.
It is hard to sneak a look at God’s cards. But that he would choose to play dice with the world . . . is something that I cannot believe for a single moment.
While the universe renders no judgment on your actions, do not assume that anything goes, that God’s loving detachment is a handy “get out of jail free” card.
In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments; there are only consequences.
Robert G. Ingersoll
There are karmic consequences for every choice you make, whether you are held accountable in this life or in a future incarnation.
In the course of natural righteousness, each man by his thoughts and actions, becomes the molder of his destiny. Whatever universal energies he himself, wisely or unwisely, has set in motion must return to him as their starting point, like a circle inexorably completing itself.
