Where Your Talents and the World’s Needs Cross

Your odds of upgrading your work life rest on how you answer two questions: How bad do you want it? and What are you going to do about it?

If you don’t like where you are, then change it! You’re not a tree.
Jim Rohn

If you cannot afford to quit your current job, devote every spare moment to creating or landing your dream job.

Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might.
Ecclesiastes 9:10

Odds are that a new job will represent a step up in salary, responsibility, or learning opportunities. But do not rule out taking a pay cut or relocating if your peace of mind is at stake.

There is no such thing as can’t, only won’t. If you’re qualified, all it takes is a burning desire to accomplish, to make a change. Go forward, go backward. Whatever it takes! But you can’t blame other people or society in general. It all comes from your mind. When we do the impossible we realize we are special people.
Jan Ashford

When you do land your ideal job, it too may prove to be a stepping stone. As you continue to grow and evolve, so too will the world around you; the work that was once so right for you may give way to an even more satisfying career.

Where your talents and the world’s needs cross, there lies your vocation.

Nothing is certain but this: Each new dream job will leverage the talents and abilities you developed in your previous ideal job.

Wherever we are, it is but a stage on the way to somewhere else, and whatever we do, however well we do it, it is only a preparation to do something else that shall be different.
Robert Louis Stevenson

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

Order it at GodIsLogical.com.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

sixty-seconds-coverPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

  1. Serena Says:

Landing the ideal job is possible. It takes some time and effort, but it is worth it. I confess I was a bit resentful about some of my previous jobs but now I can see how each one of them contributed to me getting the one I have now. Once again I was reminded that everything in my life is working toward my ultimate good. :)

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

It’s good to hear a real-life success story, Serena. Thanks for weighing in!
