When you ask the universe for what you want, it is not your thoughts and words but the conviction behind them that carry the most weight, that ensure that you and your desire become a vibrational match. Such conviction requires that you also have faith in yourself, that you believe in your innate worthiness to receive life’s gifts.
Believe in your dreams and they may come true; believe in yourself and they will come true.

If you sense any resistance on your part, you may be blocking the fulfillment of your desire with a wall built of unwarranted fears and assumptions.
Self-worth comes from one thing—thinking that you are worthy.
Wayne Dyer
If you do not feel worthy enough to receive what you asked for, or fear that receiving it may alter your life too dramatically, such conflicts can be resolved only through inner work.
Accept yourself as you are. Otherwise you will never see opportunity. You will not feel free to move toward it; you will feel you are not deserving.
Dr. Maxwell Maltz
How you feel about yourself determines what shows up in your life. There is always an energetic match between who you are and what you have.
If we go down into ourselves, we find that we possess exactly what we desire.
Simone Weil
Self-esteem becomes a non-issue when you recognize and accept your divine nature and inherent self-worth.
We are divine enough to ask and we are important enough to receive.
Wayne Dyer

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.
Order it at GodIsLogical.com.
In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?
Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.
Phil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

Thanks for this post, Phil. I need to be reminded sometimes that the limits I perceive for myself were created by myself. Only I have the power to expand my limitations!

True that, Alyssa! You’re on your way!

Phil, I don’t think that it’s about merit; it’s about grace… not, maybe, a matter of “deserving” but rather of accepting God’s abundance. Some Christians believe that Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection (whether factual or metaphorical) canceled out karma, I guess you might say… but I don’t think you have to be a Christian to understand that God is generous to his children… at least to those of his children whose vibrations match those of the Divine (?)….

Sure, Mary, it’s implicit that God’s grace is the determining factor. It may end with God but it begins with us, whatever our religious beliefs are.
