Carly’s Voice

Carly Fleischmann

Imagine being trapped in a body that is constantly on sensory overload. Imagine not being able to speak. Imagine that your legs feel like they’re on fire, or like a hundred ants are crawling up your arms. Imagine that the world, even your own family, considers you mentally disabled. Imagine that you are still you, intelligent and capable, but unable to express yourself in any way for eleven years. Until . . .

In the aftermath of her appearance on ABC’s 20/20, teenager Carly Fleischmann has fully joined the world.

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.

In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?

Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.

SiSe_fullcover_final.inddPhil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.

  1. Mrs. Pimentel Says:

Thanks for advocating for Special Needs. I just recently posted about her as well on my WordPress blog Notes From A Special Needs Teacher. Keep posting.

  2. Phil Bolsta Says:

Thank you, Ann, I will. And thank you for the work you’re doing in the world.

  3. Nicke Says:

Ah, I just got an email about her and checked here to see if you had her on your blog. I’d seen the video before but this time, the impact was even greater and I was in a position to go searching for more about this amazing girl. There are so many mysteries to life, and what a lesson this one is about speaking about someone as if they’re not in the room.

  4. Phil Bolsta Says:

Thanks for checking in here, Nicke. Yes, Carly is indeed amazing. I’m just reading about a woman who was paralyzed in an accident and she wrote about the same phenomena—doctors and nurses talking to her parents as if she weren’t even in the room. And she was right there, fully alert!
