Cancer patients Rylie, Rheann and Ainsley (photo by Lora Scantling)
This stunning photograph shows three-year-old Rylie, six-year-old Rheann and four-year-old Ainsley sharing a special moment. Incredibly, the three girls hadn’t met each other before the photo shoot.
Photographer Lora Scantling conceived the photo shoot to raise awareness about the struggle faced by children who are diagnosed with cancer. “I just wanted something that showed the strength and the bond and that they weren’t alone,” she told Oklahoma City’s KOCO News. Watch KOCO’s video report here.
As for the girls, Rheann is stricken with brain cancer, Rylie is battling kidney cancer and Ainsley has leukemia. According to KOCO’s story, the three girls are now friends and are happy with the attention their touching photograph has received from people all over the world. “The girls had a lot of fun; it was very moving watching their bond form,” said Valeria Franklin, Rheann’s mom.
All three girls have individual Facebook pages that share updates about their lives. Rheann’s page links to a fundraiser for anyone willing to help with her medical expenses. Here are the links to Ainsley’s page and Rylie’s page.

Rheann hands out keychains emblazoned with this empowering message; on the back is written “Keep Praying”

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents on Amazon.
Order it at GodIsLogical.com.
In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?
Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.
