SUMMER SOLSTICE UPDATE
The Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, arrives on Saturday, June 21. The strength of the sunlight at the Summer Solstice intensifies the power of your thoughts, affirmations and prayers. You can make much spiritual, mental, emotional and material progress at this time. Use this favorable period to focus on the qualities you would like to develop and the areas in which you would like to improve. Visualize positive outcomes for yourself and others. Pray for divine assistance.
Many people ask whether the effects of the Grand Cross Alignment of 2014 are “over.” (The Grand Cross was a planetary cross formed in the sky on Easter Sunday 2014 that lasted four days.) This dramatic astrological configuration—which involved Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, Pluto and the moon—will give rise to far-reaching transformations of every dimension of your life. The reverberations of the Grand Cross have already catalyzed an acceleration of innovative thinking, technological advances, experimental lifestyles, new modes of expression and revolutionary patterns of relating between individuals, communities and nations. The power of this Grand Cross is unlike anything you have experienced in your lifetime.
Foremost among the changes is a global focus upon individualism, currently facilitated by the ubiquity of personal electronics gadgets. While temporarily giving rise to intense self-absorption, these innovations will ultimately lead to a stronger sense of self in each person. All technological advances and consequent withdrawal into the self are part of a larger shift toward developing our ability to communicate through more subtle telepathic means. This transformation brings us one step closer to subtle spiritual realms. Consequently, each individual will more easily find his or her personal path to the divine through increased reliance on inner resources of thought and feeling. The current changes are part of our evolution toward Spirit—despite appearances to the contrary.
Astrologically speaking, the Grand Cross of 2014 is the fifth in a series of seven alignments of Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn. Uranus in Aries gives you energy for change, innovation and individuation. Pluto in Capricorn will unleash forces under the surface to give you the impetus to deal with problems in unworkable areas of your life. Collectively, we also will address problems in our corporate and governmental systems. The exploration of the ineffectiveness of our existing structures will lead to the crumbling of systems that are out of integrity to make way for a higher order. The transition will at times be challenging but there will also be many opportunities for growth.
The seven-part series of Uranus-Pluto alignments began on June 24, 2012, and peaked at the fifth alignment on April 20, 2014, with the powerful Grand Cross. The Uranus-Pluto alignment continues on December 15, 2014, and concludes on March 17, 2015.
So, it’s not quite “over” yet.

THE GRAND CROSS ALIGNMENT OF 2014
THE AFTERMATH OF THE GRAND CROSS
The planetary transits we are living under will likely be disorienting and chaos-producing. But they will be the forerunner of a society built on generosity, love, compassion and the equitable exchange of resources between people across the globe.
Tune into your higher self in the coming days and follow the guidance you receive from your soul. Do what you believe in from the highest level of your Self!

ASTROLOGICAL ALIGNMENTS FOR THE SUMMER SOLSTICE
* Mercury Retrograde: June 7th – July 1st
Rest, renew, reevaluate the past and contemplate the future. Complete projects already begun. Get ready to move forward with new plans in July.
* Jupiter Enters Leo for the first time since August 2003 on July 16, 2014. (Jupiter was last in Leo from August 1, 2002 to August 27, 2003). Jupiter will be in Leo once again from July 16, 2014 to August 11, 2015. When Jupiter enters Leo, your creativity will soar, but housing and stock prices will fall. Hairstyles and forms of self-expression may become even more unusual.
Consider these three astrological points about Uranus, the planet that is disrupting the status quo of so much of our world:
1. Uranus, a major planet highlighted in the Grand Cross of 2014, rotates at a right angle to the other planets in our solar system. Uranus is currently in Aries, where it is the most individualistic and assertive of all twelve signs of the Zodiac. Uranus will be in Aries until 2019. Uranus influences you to experiment with unusual behavior, just as it does by rotating at an odd angle to the other celestial bodies. So, under its longstanding influence, you will be emboldened to express your true nature and to follow your inner voices and your deepest desires. With the powerful magnetic pull of Uranus in Aries, it won’t be possible to hold back. The impulse to assert your Self, whether through art, music, clothing, hairstyles or relationships, will be paramount.
2. Uranus vibrates to the rhythm of electricity. Electricity has a cyclical wavelength different from the wavelength of the human body or the earth. Thus, imbibing more electronic energy through pervasive use of electronic gadgets will keep you more in sync with the outer planet of Uranus and less in sync with Mother Earth. The currents of electricity hitting the earth are so strong now that it simply will not be possible to resist the tide of change. Due to the influence of Uranus, that which is dependable and planned will not only seem boring, it will not work.
3. Under the influence of Uranus in Aries, you may have difficulty evaluating the present moment with the measurements you have applied in the past. You may well see the past, present and future from an opposite perspective from the way you have seen them before. You certainly will see many things from alternative points of view. Rather than become dismayed at the lack of clear focus, allow all perspectives to wash over you in your journey toward a more expanded spherical (rather than linear) vision.
Some manifestations of Uranus energy that you might notice:
1. The asymmetry of hairstyles and clothing. These represent the sense of being out of balance, or of pulling away from center to one direction or another.
2. Erratic behavior among people, including people doing what they’ve always wanted and not being mindful of the consequences or their impact upon others.
3. A breakdown of governmental, financial and social systems you thought you could count on.
4. The resulting breakup of relationships that you thought would last forever.
5. Extreme fluctuations in weather patterns.
6. Over-reliance on electronic gadgets as a substitute for a healthy, primary relationship.
You may feel like a swimmer who has jumped from a calm lake into a turbulent ocean under the upcoming planetary influences. As wave after wave hits you, you will not only become a stronger, better swimmer, you will learn to surf. So as the planetary patterns continue to unfold, get your surfboard ready!
Many Blessings for Love, Light and a Happy Summer Solstice,
YOUR PERSONAL ASTROLOGICAL STRATEGIES
FOR THE SPRING SEASON
ARIES (March 21 – April 19)
You will feel surcharged with energy when Mars in Libra opposes Uranus in Aries on June 25. So, if you have too many options for a few days before or after this planetary transit, step back and assess your options. You will have a clear sense of your new direction by the time Mars moves into Scorpio on July 25. If you feel overwhelmed, try to limit your extroverted activities to the pursuits that are calming and healing for you. If something feels too challenging at this time, it is best to wait. Lucky Jupiter will be in the compatible fire sign of Leo for one year, beginning on July 16. This celestial transit will help you reach a happy medium so you will feel once again the rhythmic flow of divine energy running smoothly through your life. Take it slow for a few days before Mars conjoins Saturn on August 25. The normal cadence of your life will resume several days after this astrological transit. All delays are meant to help you refine your plans so your actions will more accurately reflect your vision. The Moon in Aries on September 10 will bring you good luck.
TAURUS (April 20 – May 20)
The Summer Solstice on June 21 will usher in a positive period to focus on your goals for your financial well-being. You may have so many ideas you may not be sure which ones to pursue. Discuss your ideas with objective observers. You will gain much wisdom from someone older or more experienced than yourself. A risk you are contemplating may provide rich rewards, but you must make sure you are doing the right thing for the right reason. Set a positive intention with positive motives for greater success. Otherwise, if your motives are not aligned with your highest good—and the highest good of others—your venture is unlikely to succeed. You will meet an enterprising and ambitious individual under the influence of Mars and Saturn in your opposing sign of Scorpio on August 25. Wait until after late August to make an important commitment. The terms will more likely be in your favor if you wait and consider all options from many angles. Adhering to tradition and looking at situations in the same old way will not work to your advantage. Innovative and creative thinking will open new doors for you. Jupiter in Leo will assist you to think outside of the box. The Taurus Moon on August 15 and 16 will strengthen your resolve. The Taurus Moon on September 12 will bring you greater clarity.
GEMINI (May 21 – June 21)
The communications planet, Mercury, will be retrograde in Cancer from June 7 to July 1. These will be critical days to review previous actions and make course corrections where appropriate. You will have an opportunity to initiate new ideas and projects after Mercury moves forward on July 1. Venus in Gemini from June 23 to July 18 will attract many new people to you who can help you become more proficient in a craft you enjoy. The movement of lucky Jupiter into Leo on July 16 will inspire new avenues of creativity. You will accomplish the most in short periods of intense activity. Make sure you maintain your focus so you use the energy coming to you in a manner that supports your growth. Your mind will be most clear and focused while Mercury, your planetary ruler, travels through the precise sign of Virgo from August 15 to September 1. Allow yourself time to concentrate on one thing at a time for greater success during this fortunate period. You will shift your focus to improving your relationships when Mercury travels through Libra from September 1 to 27. You will find a deeper layer of truth in a situation that initially seemed fairly straightforward between September 27 and October 10, as Mercury travels through the penetrating sign of Scorpio. The Moon in Gemini on August 18 and 19 will help you take the initiative on a project you will enjoy. The Moon in Gemini on September 14 and 15 will help you clarify your direction.
CANCER (June 22 – July 22)
Take advantage of your good luck while lucky Jupiter remains in Cancer until July 16. This is a time to undertake challenges that you may not normally embark upon. Risk-taking will bring you rewards. The Sun in Cancer from June 21 to July 22 also will strengthen your magnetism so that you may achieve your goals. The communications planet, Mercury, will be retrograde in Cancer from June 7 to 17, and will move forward in Cancer from July 12 to 31. These will be beneficial times to review your past and make adjustments that will lay a solid foundation for the next 12 years. Venus in Cancer from July 18 to August 12 will attract supportive and loving people to you. The Moon in Cancer on August 20 and 21, and September 16 and 17, will give you a sense of being at home with the people in your environment. You will understand their feelings and they will understand yours. Emotional harmony is of great importance to you and will be easily achieved in the summer season. Your understanding words will ease the stress that someone close to you is experiencing. Your insights will be music to their ears. Ambitious Mars and disciplined Saturn align in Scorpio on August 25. When this happens, you will take an important step forward on an important goal.
LEO (July 23 – August 22)
The passage of lucky Jupiter into Leo on July 16 will mark a positive turning point in your life. Jupiter will remain in Leo from July 16 until August 11, 2015. Jupiter was last in Leo from August 2002 to August 2003. Reflect upon the people who were in your life at that time and prepare to re-unite with them or to find similar individuals to connect with during this favorable period in your life. Communicative Mercury in Leo from July 31 to August 15 will help you express your yourself. Make sure to consider the perspective of your listener and calmly share your outlook. You may find that you have strong opinions this year. It will be important to express your most well-researched and thought-out points of view in a moderate way. Make sure you have all of the facts and fire away! When loving Venus travels through Leo from August 12 to September 4, many new people will be attracted to you. These people will help you discover new solutions to old problems. Keep an open mind and consider creative ideas. A dramatic approach will garner the support you need to build strength and confidence to move forward.
VIRGO (August 23 – September 22)
Clear, efficient communications are of great importance to you. So, you may feel temporarily frustrated under the passing influence of Mercury retrograde from June 7 to July 1. To lessen your frustration, sit back and watch the world as if it was a movie in which you only had detached interest. June is not a month to push the river. However, you will get much accomplished in July that would have been impossible to accomplish in June. Postpone important decisions and document-signing until July—and if you can, take a vacation in June. The passage of lucky Jupiter into Leo on July 16 will give you a sense of being spiritually protected. While the foreground of your life may seem most important, your inner experience of spiritual protection and guidance will give you the greatest power and help you feel most centered. Under the influence of the communications planet, Mercury, in Virgo, from August 15 to September 1, and the Sun in Virgo from August 22 to September 22, you will be able to communicate your message in the most effective and diplomatic way. If you have had to changes plans suddenly in the early summer season, you will have a sense of new direction during this late summer interlude. Replacements for anything you have had to let go of will come to you. The New Moon in Virgo on August 25 represents a time of new beginnings. The Virgo Moon on September 21 and 22 will help you gain momentum to go forward with your plans.
LIBRA (September 23 – October 23)
The Summer Solstice on June 21 will usher in a period of heightened activity, but when Mars, the planet of energy and ambition, completes its nearly 8-month sojourn through Libra on July 25, you will experience a greater sense of relief and calm after what may have been an overly active 8-month period . With loving Venus in Gemini from June 23 to July 18, you will have ample opportunity to assimilate information you may have been too busy to absorb earlier in the year. Venus in Cancer from July 18 to August 12 will help you focus on home, family, and loved ones. Jupiter enters Leo on July 16, the first time the planet of luck has been in the fire sign of Leo since 2003. Think back to the people in your life from August 2002 to August 2003. They may be re-visiting you in the coming year. When your planetary ruler, Venus, conjoins lucky Jupiter in Leo on August 17, you will experience a burst of creativity. This will be a lucky day for you. You will accomplish the most if you focus on one thing at a time. Otherwise, the expansive late summer energy will dissipate and leave you running in too many directions at once. An alignment of loving Venus and energetic Mars on August 27 will potentially create friction in a close relationship. Rather than crossing swords with a close ally, it is best to avoid confrontation until the tension subsides. The Libra Moon on August 28 will soothe tensions and smooth conflicts. The New Moon in Libra on September 23 will represent a new beginning for you.
SCORPIO (October 24 – November 21)
Mars, the planet of energy and ambition, travels through Scorpio from July 25 to September 13, making this an extremely good time to manifest your creative ideas. Strategize about what you would like to accomplish and put the tools in place to implement your ideas. Slow down and take note of criticism others may deliver on August 25, when Mars, your planetary ruler, conjoins Saturn, planet of karma. If you can’t move forward, it means that the delay will help you refine your ideas so you may manifest your concept in a way that is in your highest good—and in the highest good of others. What may appear to be obstructions are really learning opportunities that will help you resolve unresolved problems to create firm foundations for the future. Do not be afraid to let go of the old to start anew. Every new beginning is filled with fresh possibilities for growth and evolution for you. Your power days are on August 30 and 31 and September 26 and 27, under the influence of the Scorpio Moon.
SAGITTARIUS (November 22 – December 21)
Your planetary ruler, Jupiter, planet of luck, enters the flamboyant fire sign of Leo for the first time since 2003, on July 16. This planetary transition foretells a one-year period of bold creative self-expression. If you have felt like a home-body under the influence of Jupiter in Cancer since June 2013, get ready to feel like a firecracker sending off sparks of beautifully-colored light from July 2014 to August 2015. If you feel fiery under the influence of Jupiter in Leo, remember to drink plenty of water and relax between periods of intense activity. Venus in Gemini from June 23 to July 18 will increase your magnetism and attract new and interesting people to you. The Sun conjoins Jupiter on July 24, making this an especially good day. You will feel like the center of attention when loving Venus conjoins lucky Jupiter on August 17. When lucky Jupiter in Leo moves into a positive alignment with innovative Uranus in Aries on September 25, get ready for radical change. Channel your energy in a positive direction so you may derive maximum benefits from this fortunate celestial alignment. If you feel exceedingly restless during the summer months, release excess energy by taking a walk or run, or by expressing your ideas in writing. You may feel extra energy under the influence of the Sagittarius Moon on August 5 and 6 and September 1 and 2.
CAPRICORN (December 22 – January 19)
It’s a good time to think about the legacy you will leave—whether it is an act of kindness, creative work, a beautiful home, financial accomplishments, or lessons you share with others. With Pluto, planet of the generations, in Capricorn, your contributions to people close to you will benefit others well into the future. Think about what you would like to be remembered for—and see if you can do more of it. People will value what you have to offer. The passage of the Sun through your opposing sign of Cancer from June 21 to July 22 will concentrate your focus upon relationships. Venus in Cancer from July 18 to August 12 will attract people who want to support and nurture you. Notice how changes in your behavior influence the responses of others. You will feel determined to assert your influence under the Mars-Saturn conjunction of August 25. Think carefully about your strategy and try not to be too rigid or strict in your thinking. When loving Venus aligns with Saturn the next day, you will reconsider a potentially overly strong action you have just taken. Your hard line will soften and you will proceed with a more open and loving heart. You will receive positive financial news from a close associate. Your aims will be furthered under the influence of the Capricorn Moon on August 7 and 8, and September 4.
AQUARIUS (January 20 – February 18)
Uranus, your planetary ruler, opposes the energetic planet Mars on June 25, giving you a burst of inspiration to express pent-up energy and emotions. The retrograde motion of Uranus on July 21 will help you reflect upon the past and make refinements during the coming months. The passage of lucky Jupiter into Leo on July 16 will focus your attention on relationships, including friends, family, children, and business associates. Get ready for a socially active year, as Jupiter will remain in Leo until August 2015. If you have an introverted personality, strategize about ways to set aside and enjoy periods of solitude. If you enjoy social interaction, the opportunities to meet new people will be numerous! Loving Venus in your opposite sign of Leo from August 12 to September 5 will continue to inspire your creativity and attract many new people to you. Your most inspiring day will be on August 17, when loving Venus conjoins lucky Jupiter. You will see an old situation from a new angle that will help you explore new possibilities. The potential for personal growth and expansion is quite high under this positive celestial influence. You will deepen your awareness of your spiritual connection with another person under the influence of the Sun, communicative Mercury, and loving Venus in Virgo in late August and September.
PISCES (February 19 – March 20)
You are sensitive to the quality of the environment around you. The Summer Solstice will usher in a period of relative calm in your surroundings compared to some of the upheaval you may have experienced during the first part of this year. An alignment between the Sun, loving Venus, and Neptune, your planetary ruler, on June 29, will open the way for a compassionate exchange between yourself and a sibling or neighbor. The passage of lucky Jupiter into Leo on July 16 will help you focus on ways to improve your health. Warming, red-colored foods will enhance your circulation and energize your body. Someone will approach you for a beneficial work partnership under the influence of the Sun, communicative Mercury, and loving Venus in your opposing sign of Virgo in late August and September. You are likely to succeed at this time due to the positive support of Mars and Saturn in the compatible water sign of Scorpio. It is a good time to plan for a new financial or business venture. Your creativity is flowing smoothly under the influence of spiritual Neptune in Pisces. Take time to periodically attune to your higher self through meditation, contemplation, or prayer, for your greatest success.

Phil’s eBook, The Logic of Living a Spiritual Life: Supporting a Life of Faith Through Logic and Reason, is now available for 99 cents.
Order it at GodIsLogical.com.
In this eBook, you’ll find answers to questions like:
• What is the cornerstone of a spiritual life, and why?
• What is the secret to liberating yourself from other people’s judgments and expectations?
• How do you reconcile the “free will vs. Divine Will” conundrum?
• Why is there an exception to “Everything happens for a reason”?
Those who worship logic instead of God are only half right. Not only is it logical to believe in God and to live a faith-based life, the existence of a loving, benevolent God that governs all creation is perhaps the only systematic worldview that explains every aspect of life.
Phil is also the author of Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything, a collection of 45 inspiring, life-changing stories from prominent authors and thought leaders he interviewed. The roster of storytellers includes Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Neale Donald Walsch, Caroline Myss, Larry Dossey, Rachel Naomi Remen, Bernie Siegel, Dean Ornish, and Christiane Northrup. Sixty Seconds has been translated into four languages: Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. Reading this book is like spending a few minutes face to face with each of the contributors and listening to their personal stories.
