The Power of the Present Moment

woman-meditating-on-cliff-extension-jutting-outI don’t know about you, but I’ve found that living in the present moment is a lot more challenging than I thought it would be. It seems like a simple concept, but it’s difficult to do on a consistent basis.

I attended a free class on the subject Monday night taught by Christine Breese, the founder of the University of Metaphysical Sciences, a distance-learning school based in California. I had met Christine the day before while she was manning her booth at the Edge Life Expo.

By coincidence (hello!), Christine’s class was held at the Present Moment bookstore in Minneapolis. I asked her a lot of questions and did some brainstorming afterwards, and these are the thoughts I came up with:

• Being fully present means being fully mindful. It is a timeless state of mind, not limited simply to what is happening around you in the physical world at any given moment. (more…)
