Doreen Virtue
I enjoyed interviewing Doreen Virtue for my book, Sixty Seconds: One Moment Changes Everything. Doreen, a spiritual clairvoyant, Doctor of Psychology, and prolific author, explained why she always listens to her angelic guidance. Here is an excerpt from her amazing story:
Throughout my career, I had gotten in the habit of ignoring my divine guidance because my angels had been hounding me to quit my job as a psychotherapist and to teach people about spiritual healing instead. There was no way I was going to do that! I was a published author and a well-respected psychotherapist. If I were to start talking about things like angels and life after death, I would lose everything!
I stopped arguing with my angels on July 15, 1995, the day that ignoring their advice almost cost me my life. I was getting ready to go to an appointment in Anaheim, California, from my house in Newport Beach. I was alone in my bedroom getting dressed when I heard a male voice very clearly say, “You better put the top up on your car or it’s going to be stolen.” I understood what the voice meant because I had a cute little BMW 325i; I kept the top down because the motor which elevated the top was broken. The voice repeated the warning three more times but I kept arguing with it. I said I couldn’t get the top up, and besides, I was in such a hurry to get to my appointment that I didn’t have time to deal with it.
When I pulled into the parking lot near my appointment an hour later, I was jumped by two armed men who demanded my car keys and my purse. It was an entirely different scenario than I had imagined—I thought that if my car were going to be stolen, it would be while I was in the building. Fortunately, my angel hadn’t abandoned me. He told me, “Scream with all your might,” and this time I listened to him. I didn’t even know I had it in me to scream so loud but that’s exactly what I did. My scream attracted the attention of people in the building, and a woman in the parking lot started leaning on her horn. The eyes of the carjacker closest to me got as big as saucers, and they both ran away.
