Be Enthroned in the Castle of Goodness

This beautiful quote by Paramahansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi, perfectly expresses the imperative of heeding the inner urge to lift your thoughts and your gaze heavenward.

Paramahansa Yogananda

Paramahansa Yogananda

Think that which is good; love that which is good. Be enthroned in the castle of goodness, and your memories will be like beautiful flowers in a garden of noble dreams.

When you live with absolute integrity, you seek out the good, the beautiful, the virtuous, preferring people and activities that appeal to the better angels of your nature.

Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable,
whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is
of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of
praise, dwell on these things.

Philippians 4:8

Living with integrity means aligning yourself in every moment with all that is good and right.

Have you grown to the point where you can unflinchingly stand up for the right, for that which is honorable, honest, truthful, whether it makes you popular or unpopular? Have you grown to the point where absolutely and unreservedly you make truth and honor your standard of thinking and speaking?

Sri Daya Mata

In the CD, My Spirit Shall Live On: The Final Days of Paramahansa Yogananda, Sri Daya Mata leads a prayer based on the ideal that the ideal use of the human body is to be an instrument of Divine Will. Here is a paraphrased and condensed version of that prayer, which is one of my favorites:

Guide me to behold only that which is good,
To speak only that which is pure and true,
To love as God loves, purely, unconditionally,
And fill my soul with that bliss which draws me ever forward down the path of that which is right.

In the end, it all comes down to this:
Be good. Do good. Feel good.
