SUMMER SOLSTICE UPDATE
Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, arrives on Thursday, June 20—Friday, June 21. The changing angle of the sun at the solstice imparts greater energy than usual to your thoughts, affirmations, visualizations, and prayers. It is a law of physics that light is strongest when it bends, as it does at every season change marked by the solstice or equinox. This is a favorable time to pray for and visualize what you would like to create in the coming season. It also is a beneficial time to visualize peace and harmony across the planet.

Personally, I never had much of an appreciation for astrology and just didn’t care enough about the subject to investigate it further. Then two things happened.
First, I happened to read a chapter in a life-changing book that burned off the fog of ignorance and answered every question I had about astrology. 2013 ASTROLOGICAL FORECAST

I considered waiting until after December 21, 2012 (Winter Solstice), to write the 2013 astrological forecast— to make sure time hadn’t “ended” as foretold by the Mayan calendar. But in the spirit of optimism, I would like to share my usual new year forecast with you prior to the potential “end of time,” given that astrological indicators point toward a new year of positive growth in consciousness and an end of time as we have known it only. The Mayans actually predicted that a wave of spiritual energy would enter the magnetic field of the Earth on December 21, 2012. This wave of higher consciousness will benefit those who are ready to receive, even though it potentially will be resisted by those who are not ready to receive.
SPIRITUAL ALIGNMENT—SUMMER 2013—GRAND TRINE IN WATER SIGNS OF CANCER, SCORPIO AND PISCES
Indeed, a spiritual awakening is strongly indicated by astrological alignments in 2013, including a mid-summer celestial line-up of Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune in the flowing water signs of Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces. Water signs revolve around feelings, which often serve as a bridge between our material aspirations and our spiritual yearnings—the sign of Cancer arouses spiritual feelings through home and family, Scorpio stirs spiritual connection through deep psychological exploration, and Pisces awakens our desire to transcend and be reunited with the Divine. LAURIE’S INTRODUCTION TO HER 2012 TALK
The Mayan word for 2012 is “Ik Manik.” Ik means “winds of change.” Manik means “self-realization through self-knowledge.”
Indeed, the wind literally will be stronger in 2012 due to a shift of the earth’s polar axis, sun spots and climate change. The year 2012 also provides the opportunity for the winds of internal change to blow due to highly activating planetary patterns that have not come together with such force at any previous time in our lives.
The higher reason for the upheavals and change many people are experiencing at this time is the need for a collective rise to a higher state of consciousness. The external “winds of change” are merely a catalyst for the advent of internal “self-realization through self-knowledge.”
The ancient Greek saying, “Know thyself,” means to know oneself as the ineffable soul, the higher consciousness to which we are eternally connected, in addition to the more widely accepted interpretation of knowing oneself psychologically by recognizing personal patterns and tendencies.

WINTER SOLSTICE 2011
The Winter Solstice on Wednesday, December 21 is a time of celebration of the return of the light in many cultures. In Celtic tradition, the Winter Solstice is celebrated as the moment when the world emerges into the light from the womb of the Cosmic Mother. Saturnalia was the ancient Roman feast celebrating the return of the light with gift-giving, bonfires, feasting and drinking. The Winter Solstice marked the birth of Mithra, the Persian angel of light and truth, in the Zoroastrian religion. Sankranti is celebrated in Hindu tradition as the transition of the Sun from Sagittarius to Capricorn. And candle-lighting accompanies the Hebrew tradition of Hanukkah at this time of year.
The Winter Solstice both marks the longest night of the year and a turning point for the sun, when it begins its northward journey—from our perspective. The changing angle of the sun at the Winter Solstice presents a powerful opportunity for us all. It is a law of physics that light is stronger when it bends.
